Each day, poverty kills 25,000 children and keeps 121 million more (many of them girls) from attending school. Microfinance services can help poor families invest in their children’s education and well-being, giving them hope and the opportunity for a brighter future.

Roughly half of the world's 2.2 billion children are currently living in poverty. Unfortunately, the U.S. is one of only two countries that have not yet ratified the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child which works to secure children's rights to survival, health and education in every country around the world.

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is coming up on October 17th, and I hope you will celebrate by urging the Senate to ratify the Convention without further delay. http://www.LendToEndPoverty.org/democrats
